Frienguin (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Frienguin mobile application and related services (“Service”), how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account: When you sign up, we collect your email address and (if you choose) a password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile information (e.g. name, profile photo) from Google in accordance with your Google account settings.
Profile: You may provide display name, profile photo (avatar), gender, country, birthdate, relationship status, whether you have children, industry, and similar “about you” details.
Personality and preferences: You may answer optional questions about preferences (e.g. food, social style, planning style) used to personalize your experience and matching within the app.
Communications: If you contact us (e.g. support or feedback), we keep the content of your messages and contact details as needed to respond.

Information collected automatically

Usage and device: We may collect information about how you use the app (e.g. screens or features used) and device-related data (e.g. device type, operating system, app version) to operate the Service, fix issues, and improve the product. We do not sell this information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account and profile.
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including personalization and matching features).
Send you important service messages (e.g. account or security notices, password reset).
Respond to your requests and support needs.
Enforce our Terms and Conditions and protect the security of the Service.
Comply with applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Sharing of Information

We may share your information only in these situations:

Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication) and related infrastructure to run the Service. Google is used for “Sign in with Google” when you choose that option. These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that limit their use to providing the Service.
Legal: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Frienguin, our users, or others.
Business transfer: If we are involved in a merger, sale, or transfer of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any material change.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing.

4. Data Retention and Security

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for legal or safety reasons.
We use industry-standard measures (including encryption and access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction: Update or correct your information (you can do much of this in the app under your profile).
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. You can often delete your account from within the app; otherwise contact us.
Portability: Request your data in a portable format where technically feasible.
Opt-out: Opt out of certain uses (e.g. marketing emails, if we send them; you can unsubscribe in the email).

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details at the end of this policy. We will respond within a reasonable time. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in your country.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own (including where our service providers operate). We take steps to ensure your data is protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant, we may notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
